The Dream Unfolds...
Since autumn of 2006, the Laser and Outpatient Surgery Center has been providing North Central Florida with cutting-edge eye care. This facility began as a dream of Dr. Gregory Snodgrass over a decade ago. Dr. Snodgrass envisioned a center that was efficient, equipped with state-of-the-art technology, and totally dedicated to patient care. Dr. Snodgrass, partnering with two other leading eye surgeons, saw this dream become a reality with the construction of the Laser and Outpatient Surgery Center, located conveniently off of Newberry Road in Gainesville. The Center, housed in a 7,880 square foot building, is not only attractive and easily accessible, but offers top-of-the-line service to its patients.

In addition to a modern facility and cutting-edge technology, the Laser and Outpatient Surgery Center also has an exceptionally skilled and friendly staff. Patient care is the top priority of the nurses and office staff. The medical team is trained to provide expert support to the surgeon and is continually educated in the latest technological advances.
Over the twenty-plus years Dr. Snodgrass has been in practice, he has performed over 20,000 cataract surgeries in addition to thousands of other eye procedures. Due to his expertise with complex cataract surgeries, he has earned a reputation as one of the area’s leading eye surgeons. The goal of Dr. Snodgrass and the Laser and Outpatient Surgery Center team is to continue to provide the highest level of care to the people of North Central Florida in the years to come.

Advanced Technology...
One of the reasons Dr. Snodgrass chose to build his own facility was the ability to control the quality of the products and equipment used during surgery. Many patients are not aware that surgical equipment and lens implants vary in quality and in what they can do. Laser and Outpatient Surgery Center uses only top-of-the line products, including the Alcon INFINITI Vision System used for cataract surgery. This approach provides the ability to customize cataract lens removal to each patient. The system’s OZIL Torsional handpiece enhances surgeon control during surgery, which improves surgical outcomes and safety, speeding the patient’s recovery.
The center also uses premium, state-of-the-art lens implants during cataract surgery. Dr. Snodgrass was the first ophthalmologist in North Central Florida to implant the ReSTOR lens, a premium multifocal lens, used to correct both distance and near vision. Also available are the AcrySof Toric lens, used to correct astigmatism, and the AcrySof IQ lens, considered to be the highest quality monofocal lens implant on the market.
